What is the Amber Flag?

You might have heard about us and about some of the events we organise in the school, which include: Mental Health Week, Stand-Up Week, Autism Awareness Month, Anti-Bullying Week, Friendlink, and we also participate in Darkness into Light.

But what actually is The Amber Flag about? Well, The Amber Flag is all about Mental Health. We are here to support our community, encourage positive mental health, overcoming challenges, building resilience and spreading awareness. We are here to help you realise that you are not alone. We wish to create a healthy, inclusive environment here in our school.

Last year we were delighted to receive our Amber Flag. Our Committee earned it by all the hard work and effort we put into many projects including but not limited to; Research for autism awareness by going to local supermarkets to find out autism friendly hours, found guest speakers that were willing to share their experience and found out about foundations which support individuals who are neuro divergent.

Raising money for Darkness into Light and charity events, for example the Stand Up Week bake sale and Jersey Day

All the events and activities we set up during the year in general. Wearing colours that represent you, puzzle piece artwork, poster competitions, information display boards to spread awareness. Just to name a few. These are all events you can look forward to during the year. We managed to complete all of the goals we set for ourselves.

We proudly raised our flag for the first time on 29th September 2025. We will continue to strive towards creating a safe environment in our school community where everyone spreads kindness and accepts each other.

For those interested -

We are always welcoming new members, and we would like to encourage you all to join. Monday in room 9

Looking forward to the year ahead.

AMBER FLAG LATEST NEWS:

30th Septmeber 2025

Friendlink is an initiative developed and run by the Amber Flag Committee.

It happens every Thursday at lunchtime in room 9. Activities include, but are not limited to, Lego, Jigsaws, play dough, colouring, quizzes, sport skills, knitting to name a few.

We would like to encourage all 1st years and 2nd years to attend Friendlink at least once.

It may be hard for some of you to make friends in your year group as you are coming in from primary school so during lunch time we will be setting up some fun activities you can do to socialise with the peers in your year. Also if in second year you want to broaden your friendship circle, you are equally welcomed.

Friendlink is a great opportunity to make new friends and have some fun. We hope to see you there.
