Pastoral Care and Student Support

Our aim as educators is to cultivate in our students the virtues essential to a Christian community and to foster an appreciation of the values enshrined in our heritage and culture. Full and honest participation in all school activities is required to further personal development, good citizenship and academic progress.

Our concern is the total development and well being of each student. We promote a happy, positive, and safe environment where the wellbeing of each student is valued, respected and where healthy relationships are developed. We believe all members of staff care for their students and that education takes place in a genuinely caring atmosphere.

Currently the school is operating a Student Support Team appointed each year by the principal. The team is led by the Co-Ordinator who is the main support contact for students.

Student Support Team, Guidance Counsellor, Year Heads and designated Class Teachers closely monitor the overall formation, progress and happiness of students in the school. Any member of staff, if they have any wellbeing concerns or been approached by a student/parent may refer a student to the Student Support Team.

Once a student is need of support, the student is assessed in a collaborative approach by the support co-ordinator and the guidance counsellor, who will then recommend the best pastoral path for the student.

The school has a code of behaviour, which clearly defines the high standards of behaviour expected of our students.

The Code of Behaviour is communicated to all families each September and is available via this website.
